Role overview
This job description has been rewritten in fresh language using the facts in the listing. Source credit and original listing details are available below.
Life360 is hiring a full-time Senior Director of Analytics and Data Science to lead decision science and data science for its monthly active users (MAU) business. The role is remote in the United States and reports to the Head of Data, working closely with leaders in Revenue Analytics and Data Science and Data Engineering. Life360’s remote-first roles can be performed from the US or Canada; the company lists a US salary range of $247,000–$366,000 per year. The source also gives a Canada range of $286,000–$339,000 CAD. Final base pay depends on relevant background, skills, experience, and location tier. Total compensation includes RSUs and benefits.
The Data & Analytics organization has more than 60 people across data engineering, analytics engineering, decision science, and data science/ML. This leader’s team examines why members join, remain, and return, and partners with Product, Marketing, and Engineering to turn findings into roadmaps. Life360’s data includes billions of location events and signals from driving, crash detection, Tile, and Pet GPS products. Because members interact within families and circles, measurement must account for behavior that affects other members—not just individual funnel activity.
The position spans acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention. The leader will own the MAU driver model and forecast, guide exploratory work on MAU growth, improve analytical standards and team craft, and establish how AI and automation fit into the team’s work. Life360 describes itself as AI-native and notes that interview expectations for AI tools vary by role; the recruiter will provide guidance. Undisclosed AI use that has not been discussed with or approved by the recruiter may affect candidacy.
Role at a glance: Life360 seeks a remote Senior Director to lead MAU decision science and data science, including forecasting, growth analysis, team development, and AI-enabled practices.

- Direct exploratory analysis that informs the strategy for MAU growth.
- Create consistent processes for scoping, conducting, reviewing, and documenting analysis.
- Work with Revenue Analytics and Data Engineering leaders to align metrics, experimentation standards, and operating practices.
- Establish ways for the team to contribute to roadmap discussions early and advise on what to build or test.
- Use agents and automated analysis routinely, and guide the team’s use of them.
Qualifications stated in the listing
- At least 10 years in analytics, data science, or decision science, including at least 5 years of people management in senior leadership.
- Deep knowledge of inferential and causal analytics, with the ability to lead machine learning practitioners.

Life360 delivers peace of mind and enhances everyday family life with seamless coordination for all the moments that matter, big and small. By continuing to innovate and deliver for our customers, we have become a household name and the must-have mobile-based membership for families (and those friends who are basically family).

Life360 is a Remote First company, which means a remote work environment will be the primary experience for all employees. All positions, unless otherwise specified, can be performed remotely (within the US and Canada) regardless of any specified location above.
We are AI Native
We are building an AI native company where AI is an integral part of how we build and operate. AI tool usage during interviews varies by role. You may be asked to demonstrate proficiency with AI tools, discuss how you leverage AI, or complete interview exercises without AI assistance. Your Recruiter will provide clear guidance as you move through the interview process.
Undisclosed use of AI not previously discussed with or approved by your Recruiter may impact your candidacy.
About The Team
The Data & Analytics Team (DnA) is a 60+ person organization spanning data engineering, analytics engineering, analytics/decision science, and data science/ML. The science teams are organized into two sub teams, focusing on MAU and Revenue. This role leads decision science and data science within MAU.
You and your team will be responsible for understanding the drivers behind MAU: why members come, why they stay, and why they return. The team partners with product, marketing, and engineering to put those learnings into everyday work, and that work shapes our roadmaps.
Our data is unusual for a consumer company. Life360 measures families and circles rather than individuals, so one member's behavior affects another's, which makes measurement a different problem than a standard funnel. With billions of location events, driving behavior, crash detection, and Tile and Pet GPS trackers, we get a rich picture of physical behavior that few consumer companies can build.
About the Job
This Senior Director leads MAU Analytics and Data Science.
You and your team will work across acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention on the analysis, models, and experiments behind each. A lot of what this role owns needs to be built rather than maintained: the measurement, the standards, and how the team uses AI. The team is also raising its craft, and coaching people through that is an important part of the job. Within a year, your team members will be operating at an elevated skill level, proactively bringing key questions to light, and serving as trusted advisors whom stakeholders consult for strategic guidance rather than simple task execution.
You will report to the Head of Data and work closely with counterparts leading Revenue Analytics and Data Science, and with the leaders of Data Engineering.
For candidates based in the US, the salary range for this position is $247,000 to $366,000 USD. For candidates based out of Canada, the salary range for this position is $286,000 to $339,000 CAD. We take into consideration an individual's background, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience in determining final salary. Base pay may also vary based on geographic location, with US work locations falling into one of three geographic tiers.
Total compensation is inclusive of equity compensation in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits.
What You'll Do
- Lead and develop the decision scientists and data scientists on the team, and set the quality bar for both disciplines.
- Own the MAU driver model and the forecast.
- Own the exploratory work that drives the strategy to grow MAU.
- Establish how an analysis gets scoped, run, reviewed, and written up, so its quality does not depend on who picked up the request.
- Partner with your Revenue counterpart and Data Engineering leadership to define common metrics, align on experimentation standards, and introduce unified operating practices across teams.
- Build the operating model that gets the team into the roadmap conversation early, with a view on what to build and what to test.
- Use agents and automated analysis daily, and expect the same of the team.
- Shape how the team works AI-native: what gets delegated to agents, what gets automated, and what stays human judgment.
