Spreedly is a payments platform that connects merchants, platforms, and fintech companies to payment gateways and payment methods through a single API. Its offerings include payment connectivity, a PCI-compliant vault, transaction routing and retries, fraud and authentication tools, and centralized payment operations management. The company says its platform supports connections to more than 150 gateways and over 40 payment methods across 100-plus countries.

As a full-time, remote Technical Account Manager based in the United States, you will support pre-sales and customer solutioning. The role also works with Customer Success and Support on implementation handoffs and helps create reusable solution materials as the company scales.

The position supports primarily US customers and teams working US business hours. Regular travel within the United States is required, and you must be able to align with US customer and internal schedules. Spreedly is not set up to support remote employees who reside in New York. The company cannot provide employment sponsorship; applicants must already be legally authorized to work in the United States and not need future sponsorship. Finalists must successfully complete background and reference checks.

For US-based employees, listed offerings include competitive salary and equity; medical and dental coverage with 100% employer-paid options; company-paid life and disability insurance; optional vision and supplemental coverage and FSAs; open paid time off and 12 weeks of paid leave for new parents; a matching 401(k) of 5% up to $5,000 per year; a $1,000 annual professional development stipend; a monthly home-working and digital-lifestyle stipend, a new MacBook, and one-time accessory reimbursement; company-paid professional coaching; and visits to the Durham, North Carolina headquarters for remote employees.

Role at a glance: Spreedly is hiring a US-based, remote Technical Account Manager to lead customer-facing technical discovery and solutioning for its payments platform.

About Us:

Spreedly is the Intelligent Payments Platform for businesses that want to own their payments strategy. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Durham, NC, we give merchants, platforms, and fintechs a single API to connect to 150+ payment gateways and 40+ payment methods across 100+ countries, along with the intelligence to decide where every transaction should go. We're vendor-agnostic by design. Our customers choose their providers, keep their payment data portable, and never have to rebuild their stack to adopt something new.

Payments are getting more complex, not less. Every new market, payment method, fraud tool, and now every AI agent checking out on a shopper's behalf adds another integration and another decision. Spreedly turns that complexity into an advantage. Our PCI Level 1 vault keeps cards and network tokens portable across providers. Smart routing and retries recover revenue lost to avoidable declines. Fraud and 3DS tools plug in with a single API call. And our payments intelligence turns transaction data into decisions merchants can act on. As agentic commerce moves from experiment to real sales channel, we're building the infrastructure that lets merchants accept agent-initiated payments through the providers they already trust.

For the people who work here, that means hard technical problems at real scale, billions of dollars in annual transactions, at a moment when the rules of commerce are being rewritten. If you want ownership and work that shows up directly in your customers' revenue, you'll fit right in.

About the Role:

As a Technical Account Manager, you will be a key player in our pre-sales and customer solutioning efforts. You will partner closely with Account Executives, Product, and Engineering to scope technical solutions that align with customer needs and drive Spreedly's growth. This is a customer-facing, consultative role focused on understanding prospect pain points and designing solutions that connect Spreedly's platform capabilities to business outcomes.

You will also influence revenue growth, shorten time-to-close, and accelerate value realization for our customers. As Spreedly scales, this role will shape our go-to-market infrastructure through solution templates, demo assets, and mentoring, making it an ideal opportunity for impact and professional growth.

This is a US-based customer-facing role supporting primarily US customers and cross-functional teams operating within US business hours. Success in this role requires regular travel within the United States and the ability to work in alignment with US customer and internal stakeholder schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical discovery sessions with prospects and customers to identify needs and align use cases to Spreedly's capabilities
  • Deliver compelling demos, architecture diagrams, and documentation that support sales conversations and technical evaluation
  • Translate business and technical requirements into actionable solution proposals and implementation plans that support scalability and reuse
  • Develop and maintain reusable demo environments, solution artifacts, and objection handling templates
  • Work with Product and Engineering teams to provide prospect feedback and ensure solution feasibility
  • Partner with Customer Success and Support teams to ensure smooth implementation handoffs
  • Serve as a technical expert in RFPs, security reviews, and compliance questionnaires
  • Educate internal teams on platform capabilities, integration patterns, and sales enablement materials

Requirements:

  • 3+ years in a Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Technical Account Manager role within a B2B SaaS or fintech environment
  • Industry experience with eCommerce, PSPs, payment orchestration, or payment platforms
  • Background in payments, card-not-present commerce, fraud, or gateways preferred
  • Strong knowledge of APIs, SDKs, and system integration principles (especially REST and webhooks)
  • Familiarity with scripting or backend programming (Python, Ruby, or JavaScript a plus)
  • Experience collaborating with Sales and Product teams on enterprise deals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including customer-facing documentation
  • Ability to simplify complex technical topics and guide customer decision-making

Additional Skills We Value:

  • Comfortable owning discovery and demo stages in an enterprise sales motion
  • Experience with implementation or support functions is a plus

We Offer Our US-Based Employees:

  • Competitive salary + Equity
  • Outstanding Medical and Dental benefits, including 100% employer-paid options
  • Company-paid Life and Disability insurance
  • Optional vision and supplemental insurance options, and various Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
  • Open Paid Time Off policy + 12 weeks of paid leave for new parents
  • Matching 401(k) plan (5% up to $5,000 yearly)
  • $1,000 annual professional development stipend
  • Monthly home working/digital lifestyle stipend, new MacBook, and one-time accessory reimbursement
  • Access to company-paid professional coaching service

Spreedly Product Offering:

Spreedly provides an open payments platform. The platform’s connectivity provides payments performance. Key products and services include:

Connect — A unified API that integrates with hundreds of payment gateways, processors, and alternative payment methods worldwide, including digital wallets. Merchants access the global payments ecosystem through one connection.
Vault — A PCI-compliant secure repository for payment methods. Merchants store card data once and reuse it across any payment service, reducing PCI scope and protecting cardholder data at scale.
Optimize — Workflow-driven routing and retry logic that directs each transaction to the best-performing gateway in real time. On average, 7.9% of failed transactions succeed immediately when retried on a secondary gateway. This is where merchants recover lost revenue and increase authorization success rates.
Protect — A flexible fraud and authentication layer, incorporating advanced fraud tools and 3DS. Following Spreedly's acquisition of Dodgeball in September 2025, fraud orchestration and payment optimization now operate within the same platform.
Resolve — Centralized management and reporting that reduces operational silos, strengthens security, and improves billing control across a merchant's entire payment operation.
